The world’s first unique patented
Q-TON Commercial Heat Pump
World’s first unique patented technology compressor
Reclaim Energy’s high efficiency Q-TON Commercial Heat Pump is an air-to-water heat pump using CO2 gas as a refrigerant. It can be used in a variety of applications for the supply of sanitary hot water. The Q-TON Commercial Heat Pump is the world’s first two-stage compressor combining rotary and scroll technology to maintain high efficiency and significantly improve performance at cooler air temperatures.
With the increasing need to use low global warming potential (GWP) refrigerant, we believe CO2 heat pumps are the way forward to comply with future regulations, as well as market trends. The Q-TON Commercial Heat Pump meets the demand for medium to large sanitary hot water generation that involves low electricity consumption and a high level of environmental friendliness.
The Q-TON Commercial Heat Pump assures improved energy efficiency and carbon reduction through the effective management of the heat source, as well as the heat storage capacity in line with the hot water requirements of the particular site.
For example, a single remote panel can control a unit with the heating capacity of 30kW and up to 16 coupled units (a total of 480kW). This enables the Q-TON Commercial Heat Pump to be specified in a vast array of new build, or retrofit, applications of all sizes.
With an industry leading coefficient of performance (COP) of 4.3, the Q-TON Commercial Heat Pump is ideal for meeting the hot water requirements of commercial buildings such as hotels, apartment blocks, restaurants, fitness centres, universities, hospitals, care homes, laundries and food industries. Systems can be set up to meet specific requirements, with a touch screen controller making operation and monitoring of hot water production and availability simple.
- Leisure Centres / Restaurants – 3,000 litres / day
- Care Homes / Universities – 5,000 litres / day
- Hotels / Spas – 10,000 litres / day
- Apartment Blocks – 15,000 litres / day
- Outstanding performance and environmental benefits

How the Q-TON Commercial Heat Pump works.
The Q-TON Commercial Heat Pump uses a coil of cold refrigerant that absorbs ‘free’ heat from the outside air and a 2-stage compressor that puts the refrigerant under high pressure in order to raise its temperature swiftly and efficiently. An on-board heat exchanger uses heat from the refrigerant to generate hot water up to 90°C, without the requirement for an additional electric immersion heater.
Hot water can be produced during off peak tariff electricity, which is then stored in a tank for daytime use. Q-TON efficiently produces high volume hot water using just ambient air heat and a small amount of electricity. It is usually used for direct boiler replacement, as it controls the water supply and storage temperature, as well as the output capacity.
The Q-TON Commercial Heat Pump is designed to provide energy, cost and carbon savings. It is most efficient when cold water is used to supply the heat pump. For that reason, the cold feed water is provided to the heat pump via the base of the storage stratified vessel. Each storage vessel has 5 pockets into which temperature sensors can be fitted to detect the volume (in % terms) of hot water held in the vessel at any particular time. The programming of the control system to hold specific volumes of hot water at different times of day is based on a balance of hot water demand and electricity tariffs, to ensure security of supply at minimum cost.
A Scalable Solution for Commercial Applications
The Q-TON Commercial Heat Pump can be configured as a stand-alone unit, or run with up to 16 units in tandem, providing anything from 3,000 to 100,000 litres of safe hot water daily. Whether single or multiple units are used, the Q-TON system is controlled from a single, simple control panel that can be remotely installed for ease of access and operation.
The Q-TON Commercial Heat Pump can be installed as a replacement, addition or whole new system, according to your needs.
The Q-TON Commercial Heat Pump meets the stringent requirements of world’s foremost environmental assessment method and rating system – BREEAM.

My neighbor has a Reclaim Hot Water Heat Pump and I was pretty happy with what the savings he got from off his energy bill as it’s over halved, here in Queensland it’s ideal to have one aswell as it’s a good fit down the side of the house. Peter
It was time to upgrade our hot water system due to it was 8 years old and we didn’t want to go through another winter worrying if it would break down so our plumber recommended a Reclaim Energy Hot Water Heat Pump due to it will save us money and the government rebate is fantastic, we are very happy with the system.
Great thermal output, whisper quiet and it saves us money!
We are a family of 5, so you can imagine how massive our ultility bills can get up to – now I don’t worry so much when the electricity bill comes through.
The Reclaim CO2 heat pump is awesome – thanks to the Australians that designed it!
I did my research and found that the Reclaim Hot Water Heat Pump is the way to go due to the features the controller has and how energy efficient the heat pump is and after I worked out the savings this is the system I need to save me on my hot water bills.
I live in a Melbourne inner suburb and found it’s only 37db which is so quiet and changing from gas is the best thing I have done.
We picked this heat pump to replace an aging; and expensive to run, LPG HWS. It’s amazing how much and how fast this unit puts hot water out, we have big spa baths in a 4 person household and have never had the unit go cold (which a similar sized LPG system would often do). The heat exchanger & fan are ridiculously quiet, it’s installed right outside a bedroom and you can’t hear it with the windows open. If only we could direct that cool air coming off it into a room in the summer
The Reclaim was installed 6 months ago to replace an existing Edwards Solar system (very old). It will be connected to PV when they are installed. Whisper quiet running, quick heat recharge and no complaints from the two users.
The demand for hot water is good we have not run out of hot water since we have had the system installed and there is at least for to five people showering every day and not short showers either as far as heat goes the people that installed the system set the meter
We’ve had ours for a few weeks and love it! The water is hot, it doesn’t take long to heat up, there’s plenty of it and the fan is quiet.
